In addition to its rich history, the house boasts 3 to 4 bedrooms, spacious living and dining rooms, a large out building for the handyman and river frontage. The Lyons of Arcadia House, situated on a hilltop in the pastoral village of Arcadia, Yarmouth County offers a commanding view down the Chebogue River. Known as the House of Five Races this house has a rich history. For millennia a Mi'kmag Village was located on the site. Then, in the early 1600s the stone portion of the house was purportedly home to the Acadian Governor LaTour, an ancestor of the owner Brian MacKay Lyons. Another layer of history was added in the 1750's when a Nantucket House, once inhabited by Paul Revere, was shipped by boat to Arcadia and connected to the Lyons House. Later in the 1770's another structure was added - half of a Cape House referred to as the van Norden House of Lower Manhattan. Through its simple elegance and grace the Lyons House of Arcadia retains as acute sense of history to this day.
